Welcome to Keiki Early Learning. We’re so excited to have you join our out of school hours care program. It’s going to be a blast! Our team is here to make sure you have an amazing time filled with lots of fun and new adventures. Here is some information that might be useful, but if you have more questions, you can ask any of the educators – they’re all friendly and here to help you.
What will I do at Keiki OSHC?
You might come to Keiki before school, after school or on school holidays. Every time you come, we want you to learn and grow while having a great time. We have all sorts of cool activities planned just for you. You can try your hand at arts and crafts, play sports, enjoy games, and even explore music! There’s always something exciting happening here.
Before School Care
If you come before school, the person who drops you off will sign you in and let the educators know when you have arrived. You will be able to play and catch up with your friends. You can even eat your breakfast here! Just let an educator know if you are feeling hungry and they will help you get something delicious.
When it is almost time for school we will pack away the things we have been using so our space is tidy and welcoming for us to come back to in the afternoon.
If you are in Kindy, Pre-primary or Year 1 the educators will walk with you to your classroom and help you get organised for your school day. If you are in Year 2 or above, you will be able to walk to your own classroom when the school bell goes.
After School Care
If you come after school and you are in Kindy, Pre-primary or Year 1, an educator will meet you at your classroom to walk with you to Keiki. If you are in Year 2 or above, make sure you walk straight to Keiki once your teacher lets you out of the classroom.
You will be offered a yummy afternoon tea. We have delicious afternoon snacks like pinwheels, cake or sandwiches with fruit. If you want to see what is on offer during the week, there is a menu displayed at the service.
You will also have time to play with your friends, relax, or do your homework. The person who comes to pick you up will need to sign you out on the iPad and let the educators know you are going, and once they’ve done that you will go.
Vacation Care
During the holidays (and on school development days) we run a vacation care program. Each day is different during vacation care. Sometimes we stay at the service and plan our own fun activities, sometimes we have people come in to host incursions where you might get to create something or learn a new skill, and sometimes we go on excursions to different fun places.
Usually during vacation care you will bring your own morning tea and lunch, and we will give you afternoon tea. When we go on excursions, we usually go on a bus. We will always give your parents the plan for vacation care in advance so you know what is happening each day.

What if I need to go to the toilet?
The educators will show you where the toilets are on your first day and will let you know whether or not you have to ask before you go. If you aren’t sure or if you forget, you can ask any of the educators. If the toilets are not in your OSHC room an educator will either come and stand by the toilets or watch you walk over to make sure you are safe.
Who are the educators?
We have a bunch of fantastic educators who are really friendly and love working with kids like you. They’re here to help and make sure you have the best time ever. They’ll help you discover new things, be creative, and make new friends. You can talk to them whenever you need help or if you want to share something exciting.
What if I have a problem or question?
If you would like further information or ever have any problems or questions you can talk to any of the educators. If the person you talk to can’t help you, they will help you find someone who can.
