Ocean creatures exhibit brings learning to life

Keiki children have transformed their learning into art as part of their term 3 Eco Learning Program focus, exploring Life Below Water. Their amazing display is now being featured at Ocean Keys Shopping Centre for the community to enjoy.

Children and educators from across all childcare and OSHC centres have been busy transforming recycled and reused materials into amazing sea creatures, using their creativity and imagination to give everyday items a new life. The term 3 program links to Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water,  aiming to safeguard the ocean—covering 70% of Earth and providing food, energy, water, and livelihoods—by addressing pollution, overfishing, acidification, and habitat loss.

At Keiki Early Learning, recycling and reusing are part of our everyday learning. From reusing materials in art and play to taking part in community clean-ups and recycling activities, we’re helping children develop environmentally friendly habits and a greater appreciation for our oceans and planet.

From Noot Noot the Seahorse to our White Shark, Little Penguin, Moon Jellyfish and many more, each creation is a wonderful reminder that small actions can make a big difference!
